About Calhoun County Disc Golf Club

Welcome to the central hub of disc golf in East Alabama! The Calhoun County Disc Golf Club (CalCo DGC) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to growing the sport, bringing players together, and taking care of our local courses. Whether you are a seasoned pro chasing down birdies or a complete beginner picking up a disc for the first time, there is a place for you in our community.

Our Mission

Our club is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and recreational purposes. Specifically, we focus on three core pillars:

• Course Advocacy & Maintenance: We work closely with local parks and recreation departments to maintain, improve, and protect disc golf courses in Calhoun County and surrounding areas.

• Education & Stewardship: We introduce new players to the sport and actively teach the principles of environmental stewardship, ensuring our parks remain beautiful and clean for everyone.

• Community Competition: From casual local weeklies like the Eastwood Thursday League to PDGA-sanctioned amateur and professional tournaments, we provide high-quality competitive outlets for all skill levels.

The CalCo Player's Code

Every member of CalCo DGC is an ambassador for the sport. We pride ourselves on cultivating an environment built on mutual respect and care:

1. Respect the Course: We follow strict "Leave No Trace" principles. Pack it in, pack it out, and help keep our fairways clean.

2. Respect the Community: Safety is always our first priority. We share public park spaces with families, hikers, and other patrons, and we play in a way that respects everyone's peace and safety.

3. Respect the Game: We embody the PDGA Spirit of the Game. Win or lose, we bring honesty, fair play, and positive encouragement out onto the course.

Join the Club!

Want to get involved? It’s simple. Membership is open to any player who purchases an annual Club Bag Tag and agrees to uphold our Code of Conduct. Buying a tag directly funds course upgrades, tee pad installations, and new baskets. Plus, you get to compete in the year-long tag race with local players!
